Formula and methodology
Formula: Small-box time = 1 ÷ paper speed; large-box time = 5 × small-box time; total time = small boxes × small-box time + large boxes × large-box time.
The horizontal ECG grid is converted using the selected paper speed. A large box is five small boxes, so the calculator reports both per-box times and the combined interval without interpreting the tracing.
This result follows the calculator's declared inputs, precision, validation boundaries, and model limits.
