Formula and methodology
Formula: Paid hours per shift = (gross minutes - unpaid break minutes) / 60; total paid hours = paid hours per shift * shifts.
Calculate gross duration using the day selector, subtract only unpaid breaks, and multiply by the number of identical shifts. The tool reports total and per-shift paid time separately so a weekly total is not confused with one day's duration. It estimates time only, not wages or legal compensability.

Assumptions and limits
- All counted shifts have the same start time, end time, and unpaid break duration.
- Breaks may reduce paid time to zero but cannot exceed gross duration.
- No rounding, overtime, legal break classification, time-zone, or daylight-saving rule is applied. Paid breaks should remain in paid time.
