Formula and methodology
Formula: E = P × t × quantity × efficiency; 1 Wh = 3,600 J and 1 kWh = 1,000 Wh.
Power is the rate of energy transfer, so multiplying watts by hours gives watt-hours. The quantity field handles multiple identical devices, while the efficiency factor lets you distinguish input energy from useful delivered energy when that distinction matters.
