Formula and methodology
Formula: turns/m = turns/(length in m); radians/m = 2π·turns/m; degrees/mm = 360·turns/length in mm; pitch = |length/turns|.
Twist rate is a geometric description of how much a line, cable, shaft, strand, or other feature rotates along an axial distance. The signed turn input preserves handedness while the pitch output reports a positive distance per complete turn.
