Formula and methodology
Formula: Product moles = limiting-reactant moles × product coefficient/reactant coefficient; theoretical mass = product moles × product molar mass.
The theoretical yield is the maximum product predicted when the selected limiting reactant is fully consumed under the balanced equation. It is a stoichiometric ceiling, not a promise that a laboratory process will achieve it.
