Formula and methodology
Formula: Match balls = matches × balls per match; practice balls = matches × players per match × practice sessions per player × balls per player-session; planned inventory = ceil((match balls + practice balls) × (1 + allowance ÷ 100)); cans = ceil(planned inventory ÷ balls per can).
Tennis events can publish different ball counts and change policies, while clubs also need practice stock. This planner separates those quantities and lets the organiser enter the rule or event format they actually use rather than hard-coding one tournament policy.

The scenario uses 32 match balls and 96 practice balls; with a 10% allowance it plans 141 balls, or 47 three-ball cans.
Assumptions and limits
- Players per match is used as the number of player or team practice allocations; doubles and team formats should be entered intentionally.
- Match-ball and practice-ball quantities are user-entered planning values, not a claim that every event uses the same count.
- The loss allowance is a simple percentage applied to match plus practice demand and is rounded up to whole balls.
- Cans or packs are assumed to contain the entered number of balls and are rounded up to whole packs.
- Ball type, surface, temperature, storage, ball-change policy, and whether used balls are returned are not modeled.
