Formula and methodology
Formula: Uncapped RPM = 1000 × surface speed ÷ (π × tool diameter); applied RPM = min(uncapped RPM, machine limit); feed rate = applied RPM × chip load × flute count; actual surface speed = π × diameter × applied RPM ÷ 1000.
The calculator exposes the geometric conversion between cutting speed and spindle RPM, then applies a stated machine limit before calculating feed. It does not choose a material cutting speed or chip load: those must come from the tool and workpiece guidance for the actual setup.
This result follows the calculator's declared inputs, precision, validation boundaries, and model limits.
