Formula and methodology
Formula: SNR ratio = signal power/noise power; SNR(dB) = 10 log₁₀(signal power/noise power); noise percentage = 100×noise/signal.
SNR compares desired signal power with unwanted noise power. The dB value is logarithmic, making very large ratios easier to compare.
This result follows the calculator's declared inputs, precision, validation boundaries, and model limits.

Assumptions and limits
- Signal and noise values are powers measured with the same reference and bandwidth.
- The dB conversion uses 10 log₁₀ because the inputs are powers, not amplitudes.
- Noise spectrum, weighting, bandwidth, distortion, and time variation are not modeled.
