Formula and methodology
Formula: Gross wall area = length×height; net area = gross−openings; order area = net×(1+waste/100); whole panels = ceil(order area/effective coverage).
The page separates gross wall area, openings, installation allowance, and the product's effective coverage. That keeps the local product assumption visible instead of pretending every siding profile has the same lap, package size, or cut loss.

Assumptions and limits
