Formula and methodology
Formula: Final volume = pellet volume + buffer added; final concentration = cells/final volume; buffer for target = cells/target concentration − pellet volume.
Resuspension planning is a simple conservation-of-count calculation. The pellet-volume input makes the assumed final volume explicit instead of silently treating added buffer as the entire suspension volume.
This result follows the calculator's declared inputs, precision, validation boundaries, and model limits.

Assumptions and limits
- The cell count is conserved and the pellet volume contributes to final volume as entered.
- The suspension is homogeneous after resuspension and the target concentration is expressed in the same cell and volume units.
- Cell loss, clumping, viability, osmotic effects, pipetting limits, and biological suitability are not modeled.
