Formula and methodology
Formula: Diagonal d=√(length²+width²); diagonal angle from the length direction θ=atan(width÷length); area=length×width; perimeter=2(length+width).
The diagonal is the hypotenuse of a right triangle formed by the rectangle’s length and width. The angle is measured from the length direction toward the width direction and is reported in degrees, making the reference direction explicit. Area and perimeter are included as useful checks but do not change the diagonal calculation.
