Formula and methodology
Formula: Gross length = bar length × count × (1 + lap/100); cross-sectional area = πd²/4; steel volume = area × gross length; mass = volume × density.
The estimate treats each bar as a uniform cylinder and applies lap allowance to total length before converting the steel volume into mass.
