Formula and methodology
Formula: True CAS latency in nanoseconds = CL × (2,000 ÷ data rate in MT/s).
CAS latency is specified in clock cycles, while the useful comparison is the time those cycles take. For double-data-rate memory, multiplying CL by 2,000 and dividing by the transfer rate in MT/s gives the approximate CAS response time in nanoseconds.
This result follows the calculator's declared inputs, precision, validation boundaries, and model limits.

- A lower nanosecond result does not guarantee a faster system when bandwidth, architecture, ranks, and workload differ.
