Formula and methodology
Formula: A strict symmetric Prisoner’s Dilemma has T > R > P > S. Defection strictly dominates cooperation when T > R and P > S; under that condition the unique one-shot Nash outcome is (Defect, Defect).
The calculator separates the payoff ordering from the conclusion. It reports the matrix, checks whether defection is strictly dominant for each symmetric player, and shows how much lower mutual defection is than mutual cooperation when R exceeds P.
