Formula and methodology
Formula: x = sign(x)·c·10^e with 1 ≤ c < 10; scientific exponent e = floor(log₁₀|x|); nearest order exponent = round(log₁₀|x|).
Scientific notation exposes a value's power-of-ten scale. WorldCalculate reports both the exact scientific-notation exponent and the nearest order of magnitude, because 450 and 800 are written with 10² but are commonly described as roughly 10³ when rounded to the nearest power of ten.
