Formula and methodology
Formula: Occupancy rate = occupied units ÷ available units × 100; vacancy rate = 100 − occupancy rate.
Occupancy is a simple capacity ratio, but the denominator matters. This calculator makes the available-unit base explicit and reports both occupied and vacant shares. It can support a building, room inventory, beds, desks, or another defined capacity so long as the user applies one consistent definition.
