Formula and methodology
Formula: Net run rate = average runs per over scored − average runs per over conceded; six legal balls make one over.
Net run rate compares a team's average scoring rate with its average conceding rate. Cricket overs are not decimal hours: an entry of 20 overs and 3 balls is represented here as 20 completed overs plus 3 balls, which equals 20.5 overs mathematically.
