Formula: Drawdown amount=peak value−trough value; drawdown percentage=drawdown amount/peak value; recovery needed=(peak−trough)/trough when trough is positive.
This peak-to-trough scenario makes the loss percentage and the larger percentage gain needed to return to the peak explicit.
