Formula: Milling MRR = width of cut×depth of cut×feed rate; removed volume over a straight pass = MRR×pass length/feed rate; ideal cutting time = pass length/feed rate.
The calculator reports the geometric volume rate implied by the entered engagement and feed. It does not choose feeds and speeds or predict power, tool load, chip evacuation, machine rigidity, deflection, or a safe operating envelope.

Assumptions and limits
- Width and depth are constant through the pass, feed rate is translational speed, and all length units are millimeters.
- The pass is treated as a straight idealized cut with no acceleration, approach, retract, toolpath overlap, or radial engagement change.
- Cutter geometry, spindle power, material machinability, chip load, coolant, workholding, guarding, and manufacturer limits are not modeled.
