Formula and methodology
Formula: Total allowance = annual allowance×term; expected term mileage = expected annual mileage×term; excess mileage = max(0, expected−allowed); estimated charge = excess mileage×overage rate.
This is a lease-mileage planning tool, not a lease-payment calculator. It converts an annual allowance and expected annual driving into a term total, then applies the entered excess-mileage rate only when expected driving is higher than the allowance. It also shows unused allowance so a visitor can understand the direction of the difference before checking the signed contract.

Assumptions and limits
- The annual allowance and expected annual mileage use the same distance unit.
- The expected mileage is spread evenly enough that annual mileage×term is a useful planning estimate.
- The entered overage rate is the contract rate the visitor wants to test.
- Only positive excess mileage creates a charge; unused allowance is not assigned a cash value.
- Contract-specific grace periods, rounding, mileage measurement, wear charges, taxes, and disposition fees are excluded.
- The signed lease controls the actual charge, and a dealer or lessor should confirm the definition before a decision.
