Formula and methodology
Formula: ((a + b) mod m + c) mod m = (a + (b + c) mod m) mod m; the analogous multiplication comparison is also checked.
Reducing after each operation gives the same residue as reducing the final sum or product. This calculator makes the two possible groupings visible for both operations while normalizing negative residues into the range 0 through m − 1.
