Formula and methodology
Formula: Distance in kilometres = fuel litres×100/consumption in L per 100 km; distance in miles = kilometres/1.609344; efficiency in km/L = 100/consumption.
Consumption stated as litres per 100 kilometres is a rate. Multiplying the available fuel by 100 and dividing by that rate gives an ideal distance before the tank is empty; the page also converts the distance to international miles.
This result follows the calculator's declared inputs, precision, validation boundaries, and model limits.
