Formula and methodology
Formula: f = cycles/time; T = 1/f; ω = 2πf; for a traveling wave, v = fλ.
This page starts with the way a visitor usually measures a repeating event—counting cycles over a time interval—and then exposes the related period and angular frequency. A wavelength is optional context for the final wave-speed relationship, so frequency is not confused with angular frequency.
