Formula and methodology
Formula: Required mass = area×rate/1000; bags = required mass/bag mass.
The rate is converted from grams per square metre to kilograms before comparing it with package mass.
This result follows the calculator's declared inputs, precision, validation boundaries, and model limits.
Input contract
- Application area — m²; minimum 0; maximum 1000000000
- Application rate — g/m²; minimum 0; maximum 1000000
- Bag mass — kg; minimum 1.0E-6; maximum 1000000
Worked example
| Input | Value |
|---|---|
| Application area | 100 |
| Application rate | 50 |
| Bag mass | 25 |
Required fertilizer = 5 kg, or 0.2 bags.
Assumptions and limits
- Area and application rate are nonnegative and bag mass is positive.
- The entered rate is a planning rate for the product and surface.
- Nutrient analysis, soil testing, runoff, local restrictions, application timing, and plant-specific advice are not modeled.
