Formula and methodology
Formula: Work time per interval = (distance ÷ 500) × split; total session time = intervals × work time + (intervals − 1) × rest; estimated watts = 2.8 ÷ (split ÷ 500)³.
Indoor rowing monitors commonly express RowErg effort as time per 500 metres. This page converts that split into interval time and a watts estimate, then adds only the rest the visitor enters so a workout plan remains transparent.

At a 2:00/500 m split, one 2,000 m interval takes 480 seconds (8:00), averages 15 km/h, and estimates about 202.55 watts.
Assumptions and limits
- Distance is entered in metres and split is seconds per 500 metres.
- The watts estimate follows the Concept2 pace-to-watts relation for a RowErg-style split.
- Every interval uses the same distance and split; changing pace between intervals requires separate scenarios.
- Rest is counted only between intervals, so the final interval has no trailing rest.
- Stroke rate is reported as entered and is not used to infer power, technique, or calories.
- The result is arithmetic for planning and comparison, not a performance or injury prediction.
