Formula and methodology
Formula: Panels = ceiling((wall area - openings area) x (1 + waste/100) / panel area).
This estimate subtracts known openings, adds the waste allowance selected by the user, and rounds up to whole panels. It is a planning estimate rather than a code, fire-rating, moisture, or installation specification.
This result follows the calculator's declared inputs, precision, validation boundaries, and model limits.
