Formula and methodology
Formula: Planning chest target = measured chest girth + chest clearance; planning neck target = measured neck girth + neck clearance; planning back target = measured back length + back clearance.
Harness brands use different size ranges and designs. This planner keeps the three measurements visible and applies only the clearances the visitor enters; the final choice must be checked against the exact maker's chart and the fitted harness must allow comfortable movement without rubbing or escape gaps.

Assumptions and limits
- The dog is standing naturally and the chest measurement is taken around the widest part of the ribcage.
- Neck and back measurements use the positions required by the harness design and are not interchangeable with collar or coat measurements.

- The tool does not map a measurement to a small, medium, or large label because those labels vary between manufacturers.
