Formula and methodology
Formula: First-innings lead = first team's score − second team's score; follow-on threshold = 200 runs for five days, 150 for three or four days, 100 for two days, or 75 for one day; eligible margin = lead − threshold.
The follow-on rule depends on the playing conditions and scheduled duration. This calculator makes the selected duration and threshold visible, then reports arithmetic eligibility only; it does not claim that a captain must enforce the follow-on or that all competitions use identical conditions.
