Formula and methodology
Formula: Round-trip distance = one-way distance×2×one-way trips per week×weeks; fuel = distance×consumption/100; total fuel cost = fuel×price per litre; equal share = total cost/passengers.
The calculator makes the schedule convention explicit: trips per week are one-way movements, so the route is doubled to represent a return journey. Total fuel cost is then divided equally among the entered people who share the cost.

The schedule covers 2,000 km, uses about 150 L, costs 270 currency units in fuel, and equals 90 per person under equal sharing.
Assumptions and limits
- Each listed trip has the same one-way distance and the same vehicle consumption.
- Trips per week are one-way trips; multiplying by two represents a return journey for each scheduled outing.
- Fuel price is entered in the visitor's currency and is only multiplied; currency conversion, tolls, parking, maintenance, and driver compensation are excluded.
- Equal sharing is a planning convention and does not decide legal, tax, insurance, or interpersonal arrangements.
