Formula: Planning design current = noncontinuous current + 1.25 × continuous current; suggested standard rating = the first common rating not below that result.
This calculator makes a common continuous-load planning convention visible instead of hiding it in a single answer. It reports the unrounded design current, a suggested standard rating, and the approximate 80% continuous-load capacity of that rating. It is an educational planning estimate, not a code-compliance decision or permission to select a breaker without checking the jurisdiction, conductor ampacity, equipment listing, fault level, temperature, installation method, and motor or HVAC rules.
