Formula and methodology
Formula: Radius = diameter/2; angular spacing = 360°/N; first coordinate = (R cosθ, R sinθ).
The calculator models equally spaced holes around a circle and gives one coordinate in a local Cartesian layout.
This result follows the calculator's declared inputs, precision, validation boundaries, and model limits.
Input contract
- Number of bolts — minimum 2; maximum 1000
- Bolt-circle diameter — mm; minimum 1.0E-6; maximum 1000000
- First-bolt angle — degrees; minimum -1000000; maximum 1000000
Worked example
| Input | Value |
|---|---|
| Number of bolts | 6 |
| Bolt-circle diameter | 100 |
| First-bolt angle | 30 |
Radius = 50 mm; spacing = 60°; first point ≈ (43.301, 25) mm.
Assumptions and limits
- The bolt pattern is regular and the diameter is positive.
- Angles are measured counterclockwise from the positive x-axis.
- Hole diameter, edge distance, machining tolerance, fastener strength, and fit are not modeled.
