Formula: Delta Tb = i Kb m; solution boiling point = pure-solvent boiling point + Delta Tb.
Boiling-point elevation is a colligative-property estimate based on the number of dissolved particles. The van't Hoff factor represents the effective particle count and may differ from an ideal integer when dissociation or association is incomplete.
