Formula and methodology
Formula: Starting at the death date, subtract completed age days, then calendar months, then calendar years; clamp an end-of-month day when the target month or year is shorter.
The calculator uses calendar subtraction rather than dividing an age by an average year length. It is most useful when a historical record gives a death date and an exact years–months–days age, while clearly identifying the proleptic Gregorian convention.
