Formula and methodology
Formula: Calculated globulin = total protein − albumin; A/G ratio = albumin ÷ calculated globulin.
When total protein and albumin use the same units, the remaining protein is calculated as globulin and the A/G ratio is formed from the two components. The percentage outputs are included to make the relationship intuitive without imposing a universal reference range.
