Formula and methodology
Formula: Completed years = end year - birth year, minus 1 if this year's birthday has not occurred; days = UTC date difference / 86,400,000.
Age advances on the birthday rather than after a fixed number of 365-day periods. The total-day result includes intervening leap days. To avoid misleading month/day borrowing near unequal month lengths, the tool reports completed years and total elapsed days rather than a years-months-days decomposition.
This result follows the calculator's declared inputs, precision, validation boundaries, and model limits.

- Age on date — Must be on or after the birth date; this is a fixed date, not today's date.

Assumptions and limits
- Uses the proleptic Gregorian calendar for years 0001-9999 and compares dates at UTC midnight, avoiding daylight-saving effects.
- February 29 birthdays advance on March 1 in non-leap years; legal conventions may differ.
- The reference date cannot precede birth. Birth time, local time zones, and jurisdiction-specific legal age rules are not considered.
