Formula and methodology
Formula: Render time = frames × seconds per frame ÷ (parallel renderers × utilization) × (1 + overhead).
A representative frame time multiplied by the number of frames gives the serial workload. Parallel renderers reduce elapsed time only to the extent that work can be distributed, machines remain available, and scheduling or setup overhead stays within the entered estimate.
